Principal Nellie Goshey is a dedicated educator with a passion for fostering academic excellence and nurturing young minds. With over a decade of experience in education, she brings both knowledge and heart to her role as principal of St. Joseph’s Catholic School.

Miss Goshey holds a master’s degree in education from The College of St. Scholastica. Her experience teaching across multiple grade levels in Hibbing, Virginia, and Grand Rapids uniquely equips her to lead with both perspective and purpose.

She remains deeply committed to growth - both for herself and for the school community. Miss Goshey continues her education as a Catholic school leader, participating in leadership development programs alongside other principals across the state through the Catholic Schools Center of Excellence (CSCOE).

Throughout her career, Miss Goshey has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to student achievement and whole-child development. She believes in creating a supportive, faith-filled environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

As principal, she works closely with teachers, families, and the broader community to ensure each student receives the personalized attention and support needed to reach their full potential. Her leadership is grounded in faith, collaboration, and a genuine care for every student entrusted to St. Joseph’s.

Outside of school, Miss Goshey’s personality shines through her love of crafting, Christmas, cats, and her Catholic faith. She also enjoys exploring national parks and isn’t afraid to step outside her comfort zone - once even holding a tarantula in front of the entire school after volunteering for a “mystery animal.”
